As of January 1, 2018, the State of Illinois has mandated that all civil filings must be filed electronically in all counties in Illinois:
- Filers may choose from a number of certified Electronic Filing Service Providers (EFSPs) that have been certified by the State’s e-Filing Manager to submit their filings electronically to Lake County. You can find more information on the website of the Circuit Clerk.
- To register, you will be asked to create a username and password and provide your name and email address. You will then receive a confirmation email at the email address you entered to validate your registration. You will also be required to enter a credit/debit card or checking account information to store for future payments.

Exemption from e-Filing:
