Give-A-Book Project
We need your help with our Give-A-Book Project! Each child cared for in Kids’ Korner chooses a book to take home. We hope these very special books encourage:
• Parents to read to their children
• Children to learn the joy of reading
• A lifelong love of reading in children
Kids’ Korner is in need of new and gently used books for ages 2 through 12. For more information, please check our Give-A-Book Brochure (PDF).
Give-A-Blanket Project
Our Give-A-Blanket Project is a special way we provide extra comfort to the children we service at Kids' Korner. Several local, as well as national, knitting/crocheting groups, donate handmade blankets to our program. This enables every child visiting Kids' Korner to choose a special blanket to provide them with the comfort they need at this stressful time.
For more information or to donate blankets, please check our Give-A-Blanket Brochure (PDF).
Give-An-Animal-A-Home Project
We need your help with our Give-An-Animal-A-Home Project! During the holiday season, each child we care for in Kids’ Korner chooses a new stuffed animal to take home. When donating stuffed animals to Kids’ Korner it:
- • Brings a smile to many children’s faces
• Helps children during a stressful time in their young lives
• Helps kids make a new friend and an animal gets a new home
Kids’ Korner begins accepting donations of new stuffed animals in the fall to be ready for our holiday giveaway. For more information, please check our Give-An- Animal-A-Home Brochure (PDF).

Kids' Korner Receives Generous Book Donation
from Lambda State Foundation for Educational Studies Inc.
Pictured are eight members of the Delta Kappa Gamma Professional Society of Women Educators including Alpha Nu member Margaret Zaller (yellow scarf), who is also a long-time Kids’ Korner volunteer along with Martha Jackson, Kids' Korner Coordinator. In the Fall of 2022, Margaret made a presentation to the Lake County Chapter about the children’s waiting room.
After learning about Kids’ Korner, Jan Shawgo, President of the Lake County Alpha Nu Chapter, drew up a proposal letter to petition Lambda State Foundation for Educational Studies, Inc. that an available stipend be used to purchase 400 books for Kids’ Korner. Alpha Nu member Jennifer Durot coordinated the purchase of the books from BookSource, with whom her employer has a working relationship. The books were delivered on February 1st!
The 400 NEW BOOKS purchased with the stipend continue the legacy of the “Give-A-Book” program at Kids’ Korner which allows for every child to receive a book every time they leave Kids’ Korner. In addition, the “Give-An-Animal-A Home” holiday giveaway program and the “Give-A-Blanket” program provide free gifts to the children as a comfort to them when they leave Kids’ Korner.
Kids’ Korner receives donations of new and gently used books, new stuffed animals and handmade blankets from a variety of local individuals and organizations.
